Friday Favorites~ Mother's Day Addition

Welcome to my first ever Friday Favorites! I was inspired by Rocker Bye Baby after Amber the creator featured one of Jewelia's Closet creations in her Favorite Friday's blog series. I loved the idea so much that I went ahead and recreated her idea, but with my favorites :) Enjoy these fab finds just in time for Mother's Day.
1.) Cloud Nine Jewelry - This Momma Bird Necklace is a must have for the mother at any age. It is timeless and sure to please any mom. This is on my Mother's Day list (well actually, I gave my hubby a HUGE hint that I wanted a custom necklace from Alison Kelley Designs , who is one of the designers behind Cloud Nine Jewelry). Alison is the biggest sweetheart and was a pleasure to work with. I had a custom made necklace made for one of my best friends for her 30th b-day and she loved it!
2.) The CHLOE Vintage Inspired Canary Yellow Birdseed Full Apron by Boojiboo - This apron is simply adorable! I actually do not own an apron, but after seeing this one and the countless others that I fell in love with in this shop have convinced me to add this to my wish list. So retro, so timeless.
3.) The Brag Band by Brag About It - I am a huge sucker for rings, and what Mother doesn't like to brag about her kids? A must have at a great price!
4.) Home is Where Mom is by Mud Hutt - This clay plate is so charming. I love it...it would look great on a plate rack or hanging on a wall.
5.) Custom Portrait Silhouette Plate by Aedriel Originals - What a great gift idea...I know I would be so happy if I recieved one of these with my babies silhouette on it.
6.) Mom's Nest (c) - set of 2 stones in bird nest by SJ Engraving - So simple. So sweet.
7.) Mother's Day Plantable Card by Wit and Whistle - Every Mother deserves a Mother's Day card, so why not make it one that will bring beautiful flowers. Yet another great idea!
8.) Shabby Sweet Lucky Mom Tags - Set of 6 - Scrapbooking - Cards - Gifts - Notes - Journaling - Label by The Paper Place - And last but not least every great gift deserves a great gift tag...these are so darling.
I hope you've enjoyed my selections and hope that I have given you some ideas for Mother's Day.

My 15 seconds in the spotlight...

Ever since I was introduced to Facebook, I've turned into an Internet junkie! It is my little escape from reality...it used to be the t.v i turned to for such an escape, but with two little ones in the picture now, all my reality shows are put on hold until bed time. So now with my new Etsy business, I find myself even more excited to get up every morning and check to see if any orders have been placed overnight. Well, on Friday morning I didn't have any orders waiting for me in my inbox...instead I had Amber from Rocker Bye Baby telling me that she was featuring me in her Blog that day...how cool is that?!?!

I was extremely flattered...especially when I went to her Blog and saw the list of celebs that she has made baskets for. We are talking HOT young celebs...Gwen Stefani (oh my!), Jessica Alba, Kourtney Kardashian, Ashlee Simpson, Nicole Richie...and the list goes on and on! I made #2 on her list with my Bad to the Bone Chucks with Pink Skull Laces! Here is her top 9 picks...

Here is the actual link to her Blog Post: http://punkrockerbyebaby.blogspot.com/2010/03/favorites-friday-its-girl.html

On that same Friday I received yet another request from a Bride to be. This time it was not to bling out converse, but to bling out the heel of her wedding shoe in Swarovski Crystals...again I am very honored and excited to be able to create something that will part of such a special day! I will definitely post pics of those when I finish them.

Thanks again for stopping by!

Lot's more to come...

I am so excited about the pair of PINK shoes! They will be worn by a Bride on her wedding day! I feel so honored :) They were adorned in nearly 400 Swarovski Crystals!!! Just for comparison, I used Swarovski Crystals on the pink shoes and a high quality rhinestone on the black shoes that is within the current legal lead limits set forth by the CPSIA. There's not much of a difference, right? Although, I must add, that in the sun light you will definitely notice that the Swarovski's sparkle like crazy!!!

Check back often because we will be adding a lot of new merchandise. Newsboy crochet beanies, zebra and leopard print onesies with matching beanies, fashion capri leggings, and of course some new tutu designs and more bling converse creations.

HAPPY SHOPPING!

I was given a very special gift by my mother yesterday that is suppossed to bring me good luck and good fortune, and it's already proving to be a good luck charm. Orders are rolling in slowly but surely!

I was contacted by a very sweet Bride who wants me to make her a pair of Chucks for her special day...how awesome is that?!?! The best part is that they are going to be Hot Pink with Lime Green Laces, super fun, right? I can't wait to get started on them...right now I'm on the hunt for lime green ribbon. Pictures to come soon.

I've been busy busy again, I just made another infant tutu for my SIL to add to her
Vintage Couture Boutique .

THE BLOG

YAY! I am so happy to finally have a blog up for Jewelia's Closet! I will be sure to update it often with new merchandise, special offers and discounts for followers, and pics of our many happy customers.

I will be working on several new tutu designs this week so keep an eye out for them. I will also be placing an order for tops sometime this week, so I will finally be able to show you all some of my rhinestone embellished top creations.

As many of you already know, it is extremely difficult to start up a new business, and by far the hardest part is getting your name out. I have had a great support system thus far and appreciate all of you who have gone the extra mile to get Jewelia's Closet out in cyberspace, and to your friends and family.

If you haven't already done so, be sure to become a fan of Jewelia's Closet on Facebook. You can do so from this page. Also, scroll down a bit to Grab My Button and copy and paste the code into an HTML widget and add it to your blog...this would be a great way to help me get Jewelia's Closet's name out. Don't forget to add yourself as a follower to the blog as well, you wouldn't want to pass up any special offers now would you?

So far I'm loving every minute of my new journey...how much better can it get?
